The Church of the Good Shepherd is the third oldest Episcopal Church in the city of Columbia and is the principal Anglo-Catholic parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. It is a spiritual home for people from all walks of life who gather under one roof to celebrate the catholic faith in the Anglican tradition.
~ The Reverend Doctor James Fraser Lyon IV
Welcome from the Church of the Good Shepherd!
The Church of the Good Shepherd is a small but growing downtown parish that brings worshippers both from nearby and from many zip codes each week. As a parish, Good Shepherd provides opportunities for prayer, study, charitable service, as well as social interaction for all ages. Our church is a liturgical church, which very broadly defines churches of people who worship together in a consistent and formalized manner and who worship observing the seasons of the traditional church year. Here, Anglo-Catholic tradition and a vibrant parish community create an environment particularly conducive to worship. Good Shepherd would like to invite you to come visit and worship with us. Please feel free to ask our ushers or any of our knowledgeable staff for help with any questions you may have.
